Taos, NM – The Taos Community Foundation (TCF) is a philanthropic organization with a 30-year mission to elevate philanthropy by connecting people and opportunities to cultivate a more creative, caring, and thriving community in Taos and western Colfax counties.

TCF connects donors with local nonprofits to support meaningful causes in the community. As a community foundation, TCF is led by a local board of directors, and supported by volunteers who assist in grantmaking decisions. TCF’s grantmaking is designed to serve the local community, with a focus on grants, scholarships, and backing collaborative community initiatives. Over the past year, Taos Community Foundation provided more than 500 charitable grants to local non-profit organizations. Additionally, TCF awarded 22 scholarships to high school seniors in Taos, Questa, Peñasco, Moreno Valley, and Clayton, nurturing the next generation of leaders. ¡Felicidades a los graduados por todo lo que han logrado y mejores deseos para el futuro!

Upcoming TCF projects include a grant writing class at UNM-TAOS, aimed at empowering local nonprofits with essential skills to secure funding for their initiatives. This initiative seeks to build a stronger and more resilient nonprofit sector within the community. Additionally, in response to the urgent need for affordable childcare options during the summer, TCF is collaborating with the Taos Ski Valley Foundation, Keeler Foundation, and the Anchorum Foundation to offer a free summer camp for youth in the community. CEO CJ Grace expressed gratitude to philanthropic partners for their generous donations to address this need, stating, “This is win-win investing for both donors and a caring community.”
