Dolly Peralta

Dolly Peralta, 78, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family at her home in Taos on April 28, 2023.

Much of her life was devoted to making the community a better place, though she never sought recognition for her efforts. She was a First Lady of Taos, served on the Citizen Review Board for New Mexico’s Department of Human Services and was the first female president of the Taos Milagro Rotary Club. Dolly was also involved with the Junior Achievement board, the Taos Institute of Arts, the Taos Community Foundation, Men Engaged in Nonviolence, the Los Jardineros Garden Club, and her Taos High School class reunions. Dolly was named Woman of the Year in 2003, an Unsung Hero in 2012, and received a Taoseña Award in 2022. Dolly will be remembered as a kind-hearted, compassionate, and loving person who dedicated her life to helping others.
