Homelessness Initiative Update

The response from the community was tremendous. In partnership with The Robert T. Keeler Foundation and their gift of $10,000, Taos Community Foundation extended a total of $25,000 for a 1:1 match on gifts for a short-cycle initiative for emergency shelter services.

In 4 weeks, over $24,000 was raised from individual donors. With other resources pledged from Taos County, the goal to raise $60,000 to provide shelter for vulnerable individuals and families was met. Grant funds were awarded quickly to Dream Tree Project and St. James Episcopal Church to facilitate the outreach and programmatic work.
