Taos Community Foundation

Women Give Taos Awards 2026 Grant to MAS Comunidad!

"Por La Gente. (For The People)"

Taos Community Foundation (TCF) is dedicated to strengthening our region, ensuring Taos and western Colfax counties are vibrant places for all. Our mission is rooted in connection—supporting local nonprofits, addressing urgent needs, and fostering a spirit of generosity that unites us.

Women Give Taos (WGT), a giving circle of Taos Community Foundation, brings women together from across our community to step forward and engage in collective giving and grantmaking. The mission of WGT is to unite women as leaders and change agents while creating opportunities for families in Taos and western Colfax counties.

Through an annual $20,000 grant to a local nonprofit, Women Give Taos helps families in need while empowering each other to create positive change through local solutions.

WGT is proud to announce that this year’s grant will be awarded to MAS Comunidad in Peñasco, which will go toward cultivating intergenerational wellness and health in southern Taos County.

MAS Comunidad’s mission is to improve the lives of people in the villages surrounding Peñasco. Annually serving over 3,500+ women, children, and families through initiative like the La Jicarita Food Bank, the SPOT office, a community health program, the Peñasco Theatre Collective, a recycling program, and the Picuris-Peñasco Community Coalition Health Fair, this organization helps address challenges and strengthen the community of the southern Taos County Region.

Congratulations to MAS Comunidad, and thank you to the Women Give Taos giving circle for making this grant possible!

"Thank you Taos Community Foundation and the Women Give Taos committee for your support of the Peñasco area. I am beyond grateful and blessed to represent my beautiful Peñasco community in accepting this life-changing grant. MAS Comunidad is the only nonprofit organization in southern Taos county offering direct service programs that provide vital support to meet the basic needs [of] educational and employment success, and the physical and mental healthcare needs of Peñasco and it's surrounding areas."
