Habitat for Humanity of Taos is a nonprofit 501(c)(3). Habitat for Humanity is a nonprofit housing organization working in local communities across all 50 states. Habitat’s vision is of a world where everyone has a decent place to live. Habitat works toward this vision by building and improving homes in partnership with individuals and families in need of a decent and affordable place to live. Monthly mortgage payments never exceed 30% of a homeowner’s monthly income. Habitat’s program also prepares partner families for homeownership through sweat equity, financial classes, and homeownership counseling.
Habitat for Humanity of Taos – Restore: Taos ReStore is Taos Habitat’s #1 Funding Source. The ReStore is a materials recycling center and home improvement store that sells new and used materials to the public at below-retail prices. At the Taos Habitat ReStore our mission is to RECYCLE donations from individuals and businesses, RESELL them to the public at a reduced cost, and REINVEST the profits into Habitat for Humanity of Taos to help REBUILD lives through building homes. By accepting these materials we’re also helping Taos County go green by keeping items out of the landfill.

If you are considering making a bequest to the Habitat for Humanity of Taos Fund of the Taos Community Foundation, we recommend the following:
In order to make a bequest, you should speak with your attorney. Your attorney can help you include a bequest to Taos Community Foundation in your estate plan, and we would be happy to work with you and your attorney to help you identify ways to give that will ensure your charitable objectives are met. We will also work with you and your attorney to craft language to accomplish your objectives, but have provided some basic bequest language to get you started.
