Non Profit/Grant Information

TCF Supports Non-Profit Organizations
Taos Community Foundation supports non-profit organizations through grantmaking, and technical support in terms of workshops, trainings and individual coaching.  We serve as a facilitator to foster collaboration between organizations.

The non-profit sector continues to be under pressure to do more with less. The capacity of organizations needs strengthening.  As local foundations have re-prioritized grantmaking and as federal support have been tightened local non-profits are trying to find ways to compete in the new market for support. TCF strives to support the non-profit sector as a whole in our community. Our technical assistance efforts aim to strengthen the social capital of our community by building the capacity of the non-profit sector to effectively deliver services and report back to the community on their outcomes.

Volunteering: People working together can make a difference!

Taos has more volunteers per capita than any city in the United States. Whether people have lived here a lifetime or have chosen Taos more recently as their home, they want to demonstrate their care for our community's quality of life. Hundreds of Taosenos volunteer as tutors, as museum docents, as animal caregivers and caregivers.

The Taos Community Foundation, which is the works to support and strengthen nonprofits in Taos and western Colfax Counties, has compiled this information as a resource for all our residents. This guide was published by Taos News.

The Taos Volunteer Guide is a directory of area Not for Profits for volunteers to match their volunteering interests with the needs of Taos area nonprofits.

"The Grannies" take to the slopes at the Ben Meyer's 2006 Ridge-a-thon to raise money for the Emergency Medicines Fund.
