Community Endowment Funds enables TCF to respond with maximum flexibility to our community's needs and emergencies, to support innovative solutions to community challenges, to explore unique charitable opportunities and to enhance the quality of community life. Donor Advised Funds or Foundations provide more donor involvement, allowing recommended distributions to fields of interest or specific non-profits, changing as the donor's interests and community needs change. This fund can provide the anonymity a donor often desires. The Foundation communicates with the donor to keep him/her apprised of the community's issues and the work of the non-profits. This type of fund can be a non-permanent fund today and built into an endowment for tomorrow. [ more PDF ]Is a Field of Interest fund right for You? Field of Interest Funds enable many donors to contribute large or small amounts to one area of focus. Grants are awarded through TCF grant-making cycles. Endowing a fund that focuses on one area of passion insures that grants will always go to that focus. If the original charity is no longer in service TCF will select another group that works within the mission parameters of the original. [ more PDF ]Is a Scholarship Fund right for You? Scholarship Funds provide academic scholarships to students attending qualified educational institutions. The scholarships can be set up for specific areas of study, and based on need. They can be advised similarly to the Donor Advised Funds, or TCF's grants/scholarship committee will review applications and make awards based on fund criteria. [ more PDF ]Is a Supporting Foundation Right for You? Supporting Foundations provide you with the benefits of a private foundation without all the work. You may choose to move your Foundation to TCF to gain the benefits of working with a community foundation. You may appoint family members and friends to serve as trustees of your Supporting Foundation. Supporting Foundation donors and trustees make grants entirely at their own pace. In addition, the Foundation honors all donors' wishes for anonymity and privacy.Is an Affiliate Fund Right for You? Affiliate Funds enable members of a community to organize local charitable efforts. Founders of the fund help appoint a local advisory board and determine how to define the community they wish to benefit. The advisors then ensure that grants are made solely for the benefit of that particular community. [ more PDF ]Is an Agency/Designated Advised Fund Right for You? Agency/ Designated Funds are set up by community organizations to solely benefit their specific agency. This enables them to pool their funds with TCF investments and take advantage of lower fees and the Foundation's professional financial management and stewardship. Designated Funds allow donors to establish a fund for one specific non-profit agency to benefit their programs, taking advantage of the Foundation's professional financial management and stewardship. Grants are made quarterly to the designated agency. If the agency dissolves, TCF will select another group that works within the mission parameters of the original. [ more PDF ] |
