Is a regional acute care facility whose mission is to provide preventative, curative, and supportive healthcare services while maintaining high quality standards and utilizing innovative, educational, and cost-effective approaches for all members of the culturally-diverse Taos Community and surrounding areas. Since 1968, Lama Foundation has served as a sustainable community and educational center dedicated to the awakening of consciousness, respect for spiritual practice in all traditions, service, and stewardship of the land. Started their endowment with TCF to support them while they grew and stabilized after reorganization. The facility is an effective working animal shelter for dogs and cats in our community. Their placement/transfer rate is in the 98% range. They have a euthanasia policy that follows the National Definition of a "low- kill" shelter, which means we do not put down animals for the sake of making space, and we do everything possible to rehabilitate and find homes for all companion animals. Believes that the school’s population should reflect the composition of the Taos area. They are able to ensure that students from diverse backgrounds have access to the school through the Yaxche Scholarship Fund and Earl Stroh Memorial Fund.
