MEMORIAL GIFTS AND FUNDS

When faced with a personal loss, family and friends often want a way to honor and memorialize a loved one in a special and meaningful way.

Establishing a Memorial Fund or making gifts in your loved one’s memory at Taos Community Foundation offers you a way to turn your memories into a lasting legacy that will make a difference for our community for years to come.

You gift creates a legacy in memory of your loved one. Your gift can support the arts, enrich education, protect the environment, provide human services, safeguard health, and foster a stronger community...and more! Tell us what was important to your loved one!

This is a special and simple way to remember someone you love.

For assistance please ask your funeral home director or contact the Foundation Director, Elizabeth Palacios 575 737 9300.

Shared Stories

Douglas Smith was known as a person who undertook new ventures with resilience and commitment. He loved our community and wanted to make it a better place for all. On Doug's passing, his family requested contributions be made to the Taos Arts Center's permanent fund at Taos Community Foundation, originally envisioned and supported by Doug.

Steve Craig moved to Taos after retiring from his practice of law.  Steve painted, skied adaptively, and developed a volunteer visiting at the local nursing home. Steve had a love of life, an indomitable spirit and a willingness to take action on his convictions. In memorial,  Steve's family requested gifts be made to Emergency Medicines at Taos Community Foundation.

Manuel and Fillie Garcia lifelong residents of Taos, owned and operated Garcia Funeral Home for 40 years. Mrs. Garcia, a member of Las Taosenas, was always very generous, quietly making gifts to many not for profits in our community.  Prior to her death she stated her desire to contribute to scholarships for Hispanic students. Taos Community Foundation is proud to host the Manuel and Fillie Garcia Hispanic Scholarship Fund.
